Operational efficiency, product and service quality and customer satisfaction were the business objectives that catapulted UGC to its present status - that of a vibrant, dynamic

business concern. The 5S Strategy (Shift to High Margin and Value Added Products, Total Customer Service, Business Streamlining, Sense of Ownership and Corporate Social Responsibility) is the strategy to carry out the mission/vision and general business directions of the company. Core to this strategy is a mechanism that would pave the way to enhance and sustain it – Education and Training.
Thus, in 2004, the UGC Development Center was conceptualized by management spearheaded by the President to construct a 341 square meter-building that can house 50 participants to meet the training needs for UGC’s employees across the country. The center was inaugurated in July 2005.
The center is equipped with the latest technology in audio visual presentations to deliver quality technical and behavioral training. Moreover, it has lodging facilities plus an air conditioned lounge area with cable TV set where employees attending overnight seminars can stay comfortably.
To date, a total of 33 seminars were conducted participated by 348 employees with a total of 5,568 training hours. Aside from formal trainings, the center is also a venue for business meetings and budget conferences of the company and is also readily available for the Phinma group.
